Seafood pesto pasta

walaupun duduk di negara barat, tapi my daily diet still malaysian style.
mesti at least makan nasik sekali sehari selepas makan.
kira sama la macam geng-geng vietnam kat malaysia, mesti nak makan anjing ngan kucing.
sebab tu habis anjing/kucing tepi jalan diorang sembelih.
hari ni kucing masak kicap, esok anjing rendang. lusa asam pedas tetel kucing.

berbalik pada kes aku,
kalau dah hari-hari mengadap nasik pun naik kembang jugak tekak kan.
nak jugak "tukor" selera, bak kata orang "Muor"
jadi semalam decide nak masak pasta.

seafood pesto pasta to be exact.
when i said seafood, it was just canned mackerel haha.
takpe2, the simpler the better the taste. (padahal kocek too 'simple', nak beli real seafood kedekut)
i'm using basil pesto sauce instead the typical tomato based sauce.
for me, basil pesto are more robust in flavour. pleasant to my palate
tomato based sauce is too cliche and ordinary, no wow factor.
and i don't really like the acidity of tomato.
(semangat masterchef ni)

Gambar ehsan google. waktu dah hidang and nak makan, camera pulak nowhere to be found.

readily available in tesco/supermarket

jadi resepi untuk seafood pesto pasta

bahan-bahan:

  • Fusilli pasta
  • basil pesto paste (tesco mari)
  • mackerel in sunflower oil cap tesco (other seafood pun boleh, ayam pun ok)
  • susu setengah cawan
  • cheddar cheese (optional)
Cara-cara:

  1. masak pasta al dente.
  2. dalam periuk lain, tumis the pesto paste.
  3. add in mackerel.
  4. masukkan susu.
  5. reduce the sauce. add in pepper and salt to taste.
  6. lastly masukkan pasta.
  7. serve while hot.
Tips:
  • when cooking pasta, season the water until it tastes like sea water, a lot of people don't even put tiny bit of salt and end up with horribly bland pasta. biggest error in cooking pasta. sesedap mana pun your sauce but if the pasta is bland, it will drag the whole dish down.
